Tracker 212: Stocks Portfolio Privacy Policy

Nicovate Limited built the “Tracker 212: Stocks Portfolio” app. This SERVICE is provided by Nicovate Limited and is intended for use as is. The app is free to download and includes a free trial, after which a subscription is required to continue using the app.

Tracker 212 is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Trading 212. The app reads CSV files that you export yourself, or connects to Trading 212 using an API key that you create in your own account.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

Your Portfolio Data Stays on Your Device

Tracker 212 is a local-first app. There is no account, no login, and no backend server operated by us:

The CSV files you import or the records synced from Trading 212, and the transactions, positions, and portfolio history derived from them, are stored in a local database on your device only.
We do not upload, store, or have access to your portfolio, your transaction history, or your CSV files on any server of ours.
Deleting the app deletes this local database.

Information Collection and Use

We do not require you to create an account or provide any personally identifiable information to use the app, and the app contains no advertising.

The app does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you or that process limited data on our behalf, as described below.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

To understand which features are used and to find and fix crashes, the app sends anonymous usage and diagnostic data to PostHog, Google Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics. This data is never linked to your name, email, or any account, because the app has none — each installation is identified only by a randomly generated identifier.

Usage events — that an action happened, for example that an import finished, a subscription was purchased, or the portfolio currency was changed. Counts are sent as broad ranges rather than exact numbers, and no monetary amounts, holdings, tickers, or balances are ever sent as event data.
Crash reports and diagnostics — the error, the code path that produced it, and technical details about your device and app version at the time.
Random installation identifiers generated by these services.
Approximate location — these services derive a coarse location (typically country or city level) from the IP address that any internet request carries. The app never requests or accesses your device’s location.

We use this data only to operate and improve the app. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or sale.

AI Processing of Imported Data

To interpret your CSV exports and enrich your portfolio, the app sends limited excerpts of imported data to Google Gemini (via Firebase AI):

When a CSV column cannot be recognized automatically, parts of the CSV structure (such as column headers and sample values) may be sent to Gemini to determine what the column means.
Asset identifiers (such as tickers and instrument names) may be sent to Gemini to determine an asset’s full name, type, currency, and market data symbol.
This processing is used solely to build your portfolio inside the app. We do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Connecting Your Trading 212 Account

Instead of importing CSV files, you can connect the app to Trading 212 with an API key that you create in your own Trading 212 account.

The key is stored in your device’s secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) and never leaves your device except to authenticate directly with Trading 212’s own servers.
We never receive, store, or have access to your API key, and we have no access to your Trading 212 account.
The data returned — your transactions and positions — is stored in the local database on your device, exactly like imported CSV data.
You can disconnect at any time in the app, which deletes the stored key from your device. You can also revoke the key in Trading 212 at any time.

Market Data and Exchange Rates

To show portfolio values and charts, the app fetches market data directly from third-party providers:

Daily price quotes are requested from market data providers (such as Yahoo Finance) using the ticker symbols of assets in your portfolio.
Foreign exchange rates are requested from exchange-rate providers using currency codes and dates.
These requests contain only asset symbols, currency codes, and dates — never your quantities, balances, or transaction amounts — along with standard network metadata (such as your IP address) that any internet request carries.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play; we never see or store your payment details. To manage subscriptions and trials, the app uses RevenueCat, which processes purchase receipts under a randomly generated anonymous identifier. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any account, because the app has none.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app may schedule a local reminder on your device (for example, before a free trial ends). These notifications are created and delivered entirely on your device; no notification data is sent to us or to third parties.

Deleting Your Data

This section applies to the Tracker 212: Stocks Portfolio app by Nicovate Limited.

Data on your device. Your portfolio data lives only on your device. To delete it:

Open the app and go to Settings → Database → Delete All Data. This permanently deletes the local database, including all imported records, transactions, assets, and import history.
If you have connected Trading 212, use Disconnect on the sync card as well. Your API key is held in your device’s secure storage rather than in the database, so deleting all data does not by itself remove it.
Uninstalling the app removes all of the above together.

Data held by our service providers. Data that leaves your device: anonymous analytics and crash reporting (PostHog, Google Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics); subscription receipts (RevenueCat); the market-data and exchange-rate lookups described above, which carry asset symbols, currency codes and dates; and the limited CSV and asset identifier excerpts sent to Google Gemini, also described above. Your holdings, quantities, balances and transaction amounts are never uploaded to us, and none of the above is linked to your name, email, or an account. To request deletion of the data associated with your installation, email support@nicovate.com with the subject “Data deletion request”. We will action your request within 30 days. Where we can identify the relevant records — for example subscription records, from the store order number on your receipt — we will delete them; where the data is irreversibly anonymous and cannot be tied to your installation, we will tell you so and explain why.

Retention. Analytics and crash data are retained by these providers under their standard retention periods and are then deleted or aggregated automatically. Purchase records that we are required to keep for tax and accounting purposes are retained for as long as the law requires.

This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. We operate no servers and the app has no accounts, so there is no store of personal information held by us to delete: anything a child entered would be held only in the app’s local database on their own device, and the anonymous analytics described above cannot identify a child or any other individual.

If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has used the app, you can remove everything it holds by opening Settings → Database → Delete All Data, disconnecting Trading 212 if it was connected, or uninstalling the app. You can also contact us at support@nicovate.com and we will action any request within 30 days.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
